2020 AGONSWIM AUSTRALIA WATER POLO QLD COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS’

Water Polo Queensland (WPQ) are excited to officially announce that swimwear specialists Agonswim 
Australia will partner with WPQ as the naming rights partner for the 2020 WPQ Country 
Championships to be held at the Mackay Aquatic & Recreational Complex, from 14-16 February, 2020. 
 
Agonswim Australia was founded in early 2004 when dedicated water polo mum Christine Finlay 
started searching for quality, competitive swimwear and eventually found a fantastic product and 
decided to bring it to Australia. Her aim was to help young swimmers and water polo players feel 
confident about the swimwear they are wearing while achieving their sporting goals. This swimwear 
has changed the face of water polo in Australia. 
 
Water Polo Queensland CEO Melanie Woosnam said: “We are very excited to have Agonswim 
Australia on board as the naming rights partner for the 2020 Agonswim Australia WPQ Country 
Championships. Agonswim Australia is an exciting and innovative brand who have been involved with 
water polo for many years. Christine is a very passionate supporter of Country water polo and it is 
wonderful to have Agonswim supporting this event which offers so many wonderful opportunities to 
regional players, coaches, referees and officials from all over Queensland. After living in Cairns and 
helping to restart water polo in this area of Far North Queensland, Christine believes regional areas 
are a breeding ground for potential champions in the sport. Christine also has an acute understanding 
and appreciation of the importance of providing quality water polo events and opportunities for 
people from the country regions”. 

 
 
Agonswim Australia will be the exclusive swimwear and naming rights partner for the 2020 Agonswim 
Australia WPQ Country Championships and will also have a pop-up store at the event. All participating 
teams, spectators and supporters will have access to a red-hot sale at the tournament.
