A Message From New CEO Melanie Woosnam

 
 
As the new CEO of Water Polo Qld, I am excited to be leading such a diverse, passionate and inclusive sport in Queensland.

Water Polo Queensland encourages building the prosperity and capacity of the sport together with safe and enjoyable participation opportunities, this is something I am personally driven to achieve.
 
As we continue to embrace change and position the organisation for long-term success, it is critical that we are united in our plans and strategies to promote and develop the sport across Qld. Although change often brings uncertainty, it also presents great opportunity. I am excited about where the sport of Water Polo is currently positioned and its potential for growth, development, and innovation.
 
While we continue to evolve our strategic goals, we empower our team and key stakeholders to think creatively, capitalise on new opportunities, and find innovative ways to engage the community.
 
With the launch of the new OVO Australian Water Polo League this year and the upcoming Tokyo Olympics in 2020, the sport is uniquely placed to capitalise on this increased exposure. This is something that should be explored more broadly in terms of improving the visibility of the sport within the broader Qld community.
 
Throughout this process, I will endeavour to engage and collaborate. In this learning period, I appreciate your patience and understanding.  I look forward to engaging with the Water Polo Queensland community to foster a united direction as we navigate an exciting period for the sport.
