Coaching Corner Week 7

This week Coaching Corner will focus on medicine ball drill to build strength and develop hand-eye coordination.

1.  Two Ball Warm Up 

A basic warm-up drill passing two balls between two players. 

DEVELOPMENT AREA: Hand-eye coordination 

 

 

2. Medicine Ball Partner Drill

Two people work together pushing against the medicine ball to keep it afloat, then switching to alternatively raising the ball above the head.

DEVELOPMENT AREA: Strength, Egg Beater

 

 

3. Medicine Ball Side Passing Drill

Player one moves the medicine ball side to side before throwing the ball to player two who repeats the action. 

DEVELOPMENT AREA: Core Strength, Hand-Eye Coordination 

 

 

4. Two Hand Explosive Throw Up Drill

Using two hands player one will rise out of the water and explosively lob the ball to player two, who will then repeat. 

DEVELOPMENT AREA: Egg Beater, Strength 

 

5. Medicine Ball Passing Drill 

Two hand passing with a medicine ball. 

DEVELOPMENT AREA:  Egg Beater, Strength
