New Water Polo Queensland Staff Members

On behalf of the Board of Water Polo Queensland (WPQ), I would like to welcome two new casual staff members to the Water Polo Queensland team. We would like to welcome Camille Reed to the position of Project Officer - Sporting Schoolsand Kristine Fowler as our new Development Officer.
Camille Reed joins the team with over twenty years of experience in Water Polo as a player, coach and referee within a number of regions; Victoria Water Polo, Victoria Country Water Polo, New South Wales Water Polo, New South Wales Country Water Polo, and recently Queensland Country Water Polo. Camille will bring her passion for the sport to developing pathways for juniors through increased participation of water polo in schools, building volunteer capacity and capability and the establishment of a state-wide framework for training, education and mentoring for coaches and referees.
Kristine comes with a strong knowledge and experience in sport development as a previous Sport Development Officer for Surf Life Saving Queensland. Kristine will focus on Club development and the implementation of programs and initiatives that will assist in growing and developing the sport through creating stronger links between schools and clubs, particularly throughout regional and remote areas of Queensland.
WPQ is in the final 6 months of a three-year funding agreement with the State Government and these two positions will be critical is assisting WPQ to deliver the final KPIs associated with this funding Sport and Recreation Qld have also recently released the new Sport and Active Recreation Strategy – ‘Activate Queensland 2019-2029’. This is the State Government’s 10-year strategy outlining the new collaborative direction for physical activity and movement in Queensland. WPQ looks forward to working with the State Government, our members and key stakeholders to confirm the role WPQ will play to help embed physical activity in our daily lives, get more Queenslanders moving more often and promote better connected communities.
