USC freshman goalie Nic Porter has secured his third round of MPSF Newcomer of the Week honors after hauling in a career-high 15 saves in the Trojans’ 13-7 MPSF win over No. 3 California last week. He also had two assists and gave up just one goal in the fourth period to anchor the Trojans to the important MPSF victory.

Currently averaging 9.8 saves and just 6.7 goals-against per game, Porter is one of three USC freshmen to combine forces for a whopping eight MPSF Newcomer of the Week awards won by Trojans this season. USC has won the honor every week but two this season.

The top-ranked Trojans are 27-1 overall and currently ride a 10-game win streak as they set up for their final regular-season game. USC will host crosstown rival UCLA at 3 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 10) at Uytengsu Aquatics Center. USC also is host of this year’s MPSF Tournament, which runs Nov. 16-18.
