It's been an exhilarating three days of competition with six teams representing Queensland at the 2024 National Development Carnival in Hobart! This year, Queensland proudly selected 81 talented athletes to compete, showcasing our growing talent and commitment to the sport.

The girls' division saw similar success, with the QLD Crocs maintaining an undefeated record and demonstrating their strength in every match. The QLD Orcas and QLD Dolphins also put forth strong performances, finishing just behind the leaders and highlighting the depth of talent in our Queensland teams. Among the nine teams in the girls' division, our athletes secured top-three placings, standing out for their competitive spirit and skill.

In the boys' division, our QLD Orcas showcased their exceptional talent and teamwork, dominating with an undefeated record throughout the entire tournament. The QLD Dolphins and QLD Crocs were not far behind, each demonstrating incredible skill and resilience, losing only 1-2 games over the course of the competition. Among the ten teams in the boys' division, our Queensland athletes played strong and achieved impressive final placings, securing spots in the top four.

Our Queensland teams were supported by seven dedicated coaches who worked tirelessly to assist our athletes throughout the tournament. Their strategic guidance and unwavering support were integral to our teams' outstanding performances and successes.

In addition to our athletes' successes, we are proud to highlight the contributions of our officials and coaches. Congratulations to our three Queensland referees, Nick Mattiske, Mia Byrne, and Angus Cope who were selected to officiate at the tournament, demonstrating the high standards of officiating we uphold. We also had the honor of having a Queensland Delegate, Paul Coolican.

We couldn't be prouder of all our athletes for their dedication, hard work, and sportsmanship. They have truly showcased the best of Queensland water polo, making significant strides and earning commendable placements in both divisions.

Congratulations to all our teams and officials for their outstanding achievements! Your efforts have made Queensland proud, and we look forward to continued success in future competitions.
