WPQ Staff Changes

On behalf of the Board of Water Polo Qld, I would like to advise that unfortunately our recently appointed Marketing and Communications Officer – Monique Staunton will be finishing up with WPQ as of today. Monique has been a tremendous asset for WPQ, particularly in the digital communications and marketing space and has created some wonderful opportunities for WPQ to continue to evolve our digital framework. Some of the initiatives Monique has been responsible for delivering in her short time with WPQ include:

  • Increased engagement with the water polo community to assist in promoting local water polo activities, events and programs
  • Improved digital content and messaging resulting in a 5% increase in social media and website followers over the last 3 months
  • Establishment of a ‘Coaches Corner’ with dedicated coaching resources and videos
  • Improve reporting of social media and website analytics

WPQ would like to thank Monique for the great work she has contributed to the organisation during her time with us and we wish her all the very best for the future.

With the recent change in CEO, the Board feel this is an opportune time to review the WPQ operations. Stakeholder engagement and member servicing will be a key priority for WPQ whilst at the same time ensuring the ongoing viability and sustainability of the organisation. As a result some changes may be implemented in the coming months. In the short term, the marketing and communications role will be absorbed into other office based roles.

We will endeavour to keep all of our members updated on a regular basis and I look forward to speaking with many of you in the coming months.

Melanie Woosnam
