Sunshine Coast Water Polo (SCWP) have launched an U16 and U13 Sunday competition.
Created from the desire to cater for both beginner and experienced players in the same competition the SCWP ‘Sunday Sessions’ has brought new opportunities for players in the region. With games at both the Noosa and Kawana Aquatic centres the 124-player strong competition has being going from strength to strength.
Organiser, Noosa Water Polo Secretary and SCWP Committee member Linda Connors says the struggles of a competition in its first year have all easily been overcome.
“Lots of things have worked well, having a central communication point has worked, the one point of contact ensured no misinformation, and everybody receives the same information at the same time.
“A big issue was the cataclysmic event of the pool café running out of hot chips and slushies on the first Sunday!”
“All in all, the biggest reward has been the happy faces on Sunday afternoons, winning or losing they are all smiley. Totally worth it.”

The competition which is going into its 6th week could not have been run without the help and support of the SCWP and the entire community. Linda praises pool coordinator Leanne Hockey as well as the collaborative efforts from local clubs and the entire Sunny Coast Water Polo team.
The competition goes until the 24th of March and is held at Noosa and Kawana Aquatic centres on a Sunday afternoon. Head over to Noosa Water Polo’s Facebook page or to Sunshine Coast Water Polo's website.
