Water Polo Queensland June/July Holiday Clinics
Published Mon 15 Jun 2020
Water Polo Queensland is happy to announce the release of the WPQ June/July Holidays Clinics as part of its Statewide Return to Water Polo Programs.
These programs will offer an exciting and affordable way for children to return to water polo after a lengthy break from all forms of training, programs and competitions. WPQ has engaged a wonderful group of high profile, experienced and qualified coaches including current Olympians Rhys Howden and Bronwen Knox and former QAS and National Junior coach Simon Daley as well as a number of current Queensland coaches.
WPQ CEO Mel Woosnam said “We are extremely excited that we have been able to secure such high profile coaches to assist with these school holiday clinics. Everyone has missed being able to get in the water over the last few months so we wanted to make any return to water polo a really special and exciting experience for our young players. What better way to do this than have our two most decorated and experienced Olympians, Rhys and Bronwen as well as our current State Team Coaches on hand as coaches for these programs. This is a fantastic opportunity and we are also very grateful that Somerville House and Stuartholme Schools have been so accommodating in allowing us to utilise their great facilities.
These holiday clinics will run across a 3 week period from Mon 22nd June to Friday 10th July. Each day, three x 1.5 hour sessions will be offered and due to Covid restrictions, sessions numbers will need to be capped at 35 athletes per session (2 groups of 17/18 plus coaches & staff). Registrations will be taken on a first in first served basis, however, if there is additional interest, WPQ may consider offering Saturday sessions. Depending on the level of interest, we may need to limit the number of sessions players can attend to one session per day and players can attend as many sessions as they like during the 3 week period.
The program costs have been kept as low as possible to make these programs as affordable and accessible as possible. Each 1.5 hour session will cost $25 per person and includes expert coaching, pool hire and equipment use. Registrations are no open via Revolutionise Sport on the links below:
Attendees are more than welcome to attend several holiday clinics over the three weeks. We do recommend that you only attend one session per day.
