Water Polo Queensland (WPQ) has teamed up with Australia’s premier US College placement service, Aussie Athletes Agency (AAA) in an exclusive one-year partnership.
The partnership will see AAA work closely with WPQ to provide coaches, athletes and parents with information about water polo scholarships with top US Colleges and lead potential student-athletes through the US College application process.
AAA offers a personalised service that meets the needs of the student-athletes and works tirelessly to find them the right coach, college and scholarship opportunity. Rockhampton youngster and Queensland representative, Matilda Moore, is a success story for the AAA. Matilda is currently studying at San Jose State University and plays with the Spartans.
Moore was recruited by Head Coach, Gabor Sarusi, for her speed and size around the two-metre area. Matilda has learned so much in her short time in California and adapted to a fast-paced game. She had a great experience with the Aussie Athletes Agency and is excited about the future prospects for WPQ players.
“Aussie Athletes Agency guided us through the process of finding the best fit for our daughter Matilda Moore. Matilda's criteria were to play in the NCAA1 water polo competition in California in her preferred position of centre forward and to undertake studies leading to a career in health. AAA delivered on this and Matilda is now playing with and against some of the best players in the world enhancing her skills in hope of further water polo representative honours” said Tom and Fiona Moore.
Aussie Athlete Agency worked closely with Matilda throughout her application and helped to secure her scholarship and placement at San Jose State. AAA is known as the authority of the US college pathway and has a 100% success rate. They boast over 400 combined years of U.S. college experience on their staff and have created millions of dollars of value for Queensland families. Director and former Stanford and University of Colorado Coach, David Hodge, leads the team that helped Matilda and hundreds of student-athletes find the right college in the USA.
“It was a joy working with the Moore family and Water Polo Queensland to help Matilda find the right college and water polo team. We’re passionate about providing Aussie athletes with opportunities to compete in their sport in the world’s best college competition. Our core values align closely with Water Polo Queensland to educate our community on the exceptional pathways Water Polo creates for future ambassadors of the sport.” said David Hodge, Director of Aussie Athletes Agency.
“We’re delighted to partner with the Aussie Athlete Agency. The partnership will give our athletes more pathways to continue playing water polo once they have left high school. College sport in the USA is the envy of the world and is one of the best places to combine playing top-level water polo with a world-class education.” added Robert Donaghue, Chief Executive Officer for Water Polo Queensland.
WPQ and AAA will host a series of education sessions throughout the partnership duration. All members of the water polo community are invited to attend and to discover more about scholarship and education opportunities in the USA.
