Water Polo Queensland Players awarded QUT 2019 Sporting Scholarships

Water Polo Queensland players Bronwen Knox, Daniel Hansen, Kasey Dalziel, Phoebe Powell, and Zoe Balmanno have been awarded 2019 Elite Athlete Scholarships with QUT. 

The Elite Athlete Scholarships are worth $10,000 each for commencing or continuing students. 

Water Polo was awarded the largest number of scholarships of any QUT sport for 2019. 

Sports Coordinator Emily Rosemond commented on the scholarships saying

"Water polo is one of our focus sports at the moment. We are focusing on building a program from high school to high performance to grow water polo participation as a whole." 

"QUT has fantastic aquatic facilities and it fits within our vision to utilize them for water polo."

"The scholarships were chosen from a panel of both internal and external parties and the chosen recipients were recognised as developing and progressing athletes in their field."

QUT hope to support athletes as best as possible both academically and in sport.

Players are currently studying; 

Bronwen Knox - Bachelor of Law

Daniel Hansen - Bachelor of Business Management 

Kasey Dalziel - Bachelor of Business 

Phoebe Powell - Bachelor of International Business 

Zoe Balmanno - Bachelor of Primary Education
