WPQ STAFF CHANGES
Published Fri 13 Mar 2020
On behalf of the Board of Water Polo Qld (WPQ), I would like to advise that unfortunately our casual North Queensland Development Officer – Kristine Fowler finished up with Water Polo Qld last week. Kristine has taken the opportunity to accept a full-time Club Development role with Tennis Qld in Townsville.
Kristine has been a tremendous asset for WPQ over the past 6 months and has played a particularly important role in growing and developing water polo and building the capacity of our Associations and volunteers throughout regional Queensland. Kristine has worked closely with a number of Country Associations and Schools to raise the awareness and participation of water polo. Some of Kristine’s key achievements during her time with WPQ include:
- Provided Club Development assistance and support to a number of Regional Associations
- Assisted in the establishment of two new Regions in Charters Towers and also the Wide Bay area encompassing Hervey Bay and Maryborough
- Provided event management support for the 2019 State Titles and 2020 Qld Country Championships as well as preparations for the NQ Games
- Increased water polo visibility in schools throughout regional Queensland
- Assisted in the co-ordination and delivery of the Sporting Schools program
WPQ would like to thank Kristine for the great work she has contributed to the organisation during her brief time with us and we wish her and her family all the very best for the future.
This recent vacancy in the WPQ staffing composition has provided an opportunity for WPQ to review the overall HR requirements of the organisation. WPQ are pleased to announce that former casual employees Camille Reed and Finn Bright will now take on part-time roles with WPQ. Camille was formally in the casual role of Project Officer – Sporting Schools based in Cairns working approximately 10-15 hours per week. Camille will now take on the part-time role of North Queensland Development Officer for 3 days per week which will also include Sporting Schools. Finn Bright has formally been a Griffith University Intern with WPQ and was engaged last year on a casual basis to assist in an administrative capacity with competitions and events. Finn will now take on a part-time role for 3 days per week as the Administration Officer of WPQ working from the WPQ Office in Milton.
On behalf of WPQ and the members, we would like to welcome Camille and Finn to these new positions and we look forward to working with them to help grow, develop and promote the sport of water polo throughout Queensland.
We will endeavour to keep all of our members updated on a regular basis and I look forward to speaking with many of you in the coming weeks and months.
